These Guidelines were issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus to all MFIs licensed to operate in Cyprus under the provisions of Regulation (EU) “Regulation (EC) No 549/2013 issued by the European Parliament and the Council on 21 May 2013 on the European System of national and regional accounts in the European Union.
The Guidelines are intended to provide MFIs with the necessary explanations concerning the classification of their customers and counterparties in financial transactions into institutional sectors and sub-sectors on the basis of their economic behaviour in accordance with ESA 2010.
