Services

The data on Cyprus’ trade in services show the financial flows (receipts and payments) stemming from transactions between residents and non-residents related to the provision of services. The major categories of “Services” are transport (e.g. shipping and airline companies), telecommunications, insurance, financial services, triangular trade, as well as legal, accounting and consultancy services.

The data on trade in services of Cyprus are mainly collected from the banking system (receipts and payments for the provision and receipt of services), the Inland Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance, and the Statistical Service of Cyprus. Moreover, the Central Bank of Cyprus conducts specialised surveys on imporant sectors of the economy such as shipping, insurance, air transport and telecommunications services.
