The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) would like to clarify that the purpose of giving the data on the cooperatives to the Parliamentary Committee on the Cooperatives, was in order to explain the reasons why the cooperative sector had to undergo recapitalisation and not to raise concerns.
The CBC reiterates that the cooperative sector is considered viable by our lenders and that is the reason why we are proceeding with its recapitalisation and restructuring.
