The Central Bank of Cyprus announces that the European Commission organises public voting in a special web page for the selection of the design for the commemorative coin of nominal amount €2 that will be issued in 2015 by all eurozone member states on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the European Union flag. Voting has started today and will last until 27 May 2015.
All citizens and residents of the 19 euro-area Member States who are at least 12 years old by the end of 2015 may vote on their preferred design among five different coin designs pre-selected by a professional jury following a design competition launched by the European Commission.
