The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) today releases for the first time the quarterly publication Investment Funds Statistics, which provides aggregated data concerning Investment Funds (IFs). The data is compiled by the Statistics Department of the CBC, based on the statistical data submitted by IFs resident in Cyprus, according to Regulation (EC) No 958/2007 of the European Central Bank (ECB/2007/8).
It should be noted that the importance of the sector in the Cyprus economy has been increasing over time, with the number of IFs rising to 77 in March 2014, from 55 in December 2008, and their total assets increasing from €1.275,2 million in December 2008 to €3.076,1 million in March 2014.

4. Investment funds total assets/liabilities, by type of investment fund
Data for the reference quarters December 2008 to March 2014 are included in this first edition of the publication. Thereafter, the publication will be released according to the release calendar, which can be found here.
