The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs loans and deposits statistics for the reference month of August 2014, which are included in the September 2014 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in August 2014 exhibited a net decrease of €328,1 million, as compared with a net decrease of €153,3 million in July 2014. The annual growth rate stood at -4,3% as compared with -4,6% in July 2014. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €46,4 billion in August 2014.
Total loans in August 2014 exhibited a net increase of €99,4 million, as compared with a net decrease of €435,0 million in July 2014. The annual growth rate stood at -3,6% as compared with -7,3% in July 2014. The outstanding amount of loans reached €60,3 billion in August 2014.
