The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of April 2016, which are included in the May 2016 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in April 2016 recorded a net increase of €144,9 million, compared with a net decrease of €95,6 million in March 2016. The annual growth rate stood at 2,4%, compared with 2,0% in March 2016. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €45,9 billion in April 2016.
Total loans in April 2016 exhibited a net decrease of €86,7 million, compared with a net decrease of €613,1 million in March 2016. The annual growth rate stood at -7,3%, compared with -7,5% in March 2016. The outstanding amount of loans reached €57,4 billion in April 2016.
