The Central Bank of Cyprus wishes to remind the public that the legal obligation of banks and cooperative credit institutions to exchange for euro, free of charge, Cyprus pound banknotes worth up to £1.000 and coins worth up to £50 will cease on 30 June 2008.
The Central Bank of Cyprus will continue to exchange coins until 31 December 2009 and banknotes until 31 December 2017, free of charge and with no quantitative restrictions.
