The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) welcomed on 7 July 2026 the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (Centralna Banka Crne Gore - CBCG), Dr Irena Radović, and a delegation of senior CBCG officials, for a working visit to the CBC.
During the visit, the Governor of the CBC, Dr Christodoulos Patsalides, met with Governor Radović and discussed recent economic and financial developments, as well as matters of common interest concerning central banking, financial stability, and European integration.
The discussions focused primarily on the CBC’s experiences on the practical implementation of European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and Eurosystem requirements. Particular emphasis was placed on organisational structures, governance arrangements, resource allocation, operational efficiency, digital transformation, information technology services and infrastructure, and payment systems.
Senior CBC officials delivered presentations and shared practical insights, experiences, as well as lessons learned from Cyprus’ accession to the European Union and subsequent euro area membership.
The visit forms part of the CBCG’s ongoing preparations for future integration into the ESCB and the Eurosystem and provided a valuable opportunity for an open and constructive exchange of views, experiences and good practices between the two institutions.
The CBC highly values its cooperation with the CBCG and looks forward to further strengthening the close professional relationship between the two institutions.
