The Central Bank of Cyprus (“CBC”) urges the public, including users of payment services and holders of electronic money accounts, to visit its official online registries to verify which payment institutions and electronic money institutions are legally authorized to operate in the Republic of Cyprus.
The relevant registers are:
• Payment institutions' register, and
• Register of Electronic Money Institutions
Special attention should be paid to license revocations, which are published in the above registries. It is noted that two electronic money institution licenses have already been revoked in 2025.
