A three member team from the International Monetary Fund, headed by Mr Alexander Hoffmaister, Deputy Division Chief of the European Department, is in Cyprus between 7 and 9 December. The purpose of this short visit is to meet with Cypriot policy makers as part of the IMF’s surveillance of the Cyprus economy. Mr Hoffmaister and his two colleagues will hold meetings with the Minister of Finance, Mr M. Sarris, the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, Mr Chr. Christodoulou, senior officers of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance, as well as leading figures and representatives of the banking sector, employers organisations and trade unions.
