The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of September 2023, which are included in the October 2023 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. It is noted that the data for the period November 2022 – August 2023 were revised following the audit of the financial statements of the MFIs for 2022.
Total deposits in September 2023 recorded a net increase1 of €87,7 million, compared with a net decrease of €175,5 million in August 2023. The annual growth rate stood at 1,6%, compared with 1,7% in August 2023. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €52,0 billion in September 2023.
Total loans in September 2023 recorded a net increase of €19,2 million, compared with a net increase of €8,5 million in August 2023, exhibiting a zero annual growth rate, compared with -0,5% in August 2023. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €24,9 billion in September 2023.
