The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of January 2019, which are included in the February 2019 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in January 2019 recorded a net decrease of €342,7 million, compared with a net increase of €392,7 million in December 2018. The annual growth rate reached 4,1%, compared with 3,7% in December 2018. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached €47,5 billion in January 2019.
Total loans in January 2019 exhibited a net increase of €115,1 million, compared with a net increase of €166,8 million in December 2018. The annual growth rate stood at -2,4%, compared with -2,6% in December 2018. The outstanding amount of loans reached €39,3 billion in January 2019.
