The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of May 2023, which are included in the June 2023 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in May 2023 recorded a net increase1 of €164,8 million, compared with a net decrease of €173,3 million in April 2023. The annual growth rate stood at 2,6%, compared with 1,9% in April 2023. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €52,0 billion in May 2023.
Total loans in May 2023 recorded a net increase of €90,6 million, compared with a net decrease of €130,9 million in April 2023. The annual growth rate stood at -1,3%, remaining unchanged compared with April 2023. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €25,1 billion in May 2023.
