The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of December 2025, which are included in the January 2026 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in December 2025 recorded a net increase1 of €877,1 million, compared with a net increase of €330,8 million in November 2025. It is noted that the magnitude of the deposits increase in December 2025 was affected by seasonal factors. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6,5%, compared with 6,7% in November 2025. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached €58,7 billion in December 2025.
Deposits of Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €948,3 million. More analytically, deposits of households and non-financial corporations increased by €622,3 million and €51,2 million respectively. Deposits of the remaining domestic sectors2 exhibited a total increase of €274,8 million.
Total loans in December 2025 recorded a net increase of €587,2 million, compared with a net increase of €71,5 million in November 2025. The annual growth rate of total loans stood at 10,7%, compared with 10,5% in November 2025. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €27,1 billion in December 2025.
Loans to Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €250,5 million. More analytically, loans to households and non-financial corporations increased by €113,0 million and €150,1 million respectively. Loans to the remaining domestic sectors2 exhibited a total decrease of €12,6 million.
