The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the external data statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for the second quarter of 2018 (2018Q2), as well as revised statistics for the period 2016-2017 and 2018Q1.
According to the latest provisional balance of payments data for 2018Q2, the current account recorded a deficit of €262,7 million, compared with a surplus of €69,0 million in 2017Q2. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2018Q2 recorded an improvement, reaching a net liability position of €22.582,7 million, compared with €23.004,4 million the previous quarter. The external debt of Cyprus amounted to €101.246,8 million in 2018Q2, compared with €106.775,7 million in 2018Q1.
