The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has released the external data statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for the fourth quarter of 2017 (2017Q4), as well as the revised statistics for the first three quarters of 2017.
According to the latest provisional balance of payments data for 2017, the current account recorded a deficit of €1.291,0 million, compared with a deficit of €888,8 million in 2016. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2017 has marginally improved, reaching a net liability position of €23.139,4 million, compared with €23.166,7 million in 2016. The external debt of Cyprus amounted to €107.058,5 million in 2017, compared with €107.284,0 million in 2016.
