Τhe Central Bank of Cyprus, in accordance with its policy for the designation of Cyprus Investment Firms that meet the definition of Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SIIs) and the methodology for the determination of the O-SII buffer requirement of each Cyprus Investment Firm, and following consultation with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, concluded on 2 December 2022 its annual reassessment of the designation of Cyprus Investment Firms (CIFs) that meet the definition of O-SII institutions.
In accordance with the CBC's reassessment, no Cyprus Investment Firm meets the conditions required to be subject to the prudential framework included in the Directive of the EU on capital requirements (Directive 2013/36/EU - CRD) and in the Regulation of the EU on capital requirements (Regulation 575/2013 - CRR). As such, no Cyprus Investment Firm could meet the definition of O-SII intitutions.
