The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of April 2017, which are included in the May 2017 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. The data for the reference month of December 2016 have been revised, since most of the audited financial statements by the MFIs are now available. The data for the months of January, February and March 2017 were, therefore, revised accordingly.
Total deposits in April 2017 recorded a net decrease of €155,4 million, compared with a net increase of €322,1 million in March 2017. The annual growth rate stood at 6,4%, compared with 7,1% in March 2017. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €49,2 billion in April 2017.
Total loans in April 2017 exhibited a net decrease of €91,6 million, compared with a net decrease of €28,0 million in March 2017. The annual growth rate stood at -5,0%, remaining unchanged compared with March 2017. Τhe outstanding amount of loans reached €54,6 billion in April 2017.
