Andrea Enria concludes his visit to the Central Bank of Cyprus

The Chair of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (ECB), Andrea Enria, visited Cyprus on 17-18 January 2023 as part of his program of visits to the euro area supervisory authorities.

During his visit to Cyprus, Mr. Enria held meetings with the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), Mr. Constantinos Herodotou and also with the Management team of the CBC’s Supervision Division. Mr. Enria also met with representatives of the Cyprus Banking Sector and had the opportunity to discuss supervisory matters.

Mr. Enria stated: “I had very fruitful meetings with the Governor, supervisors and management of the CBC and a good exchange of views with top management of Cypriot Banks. It was also an opportunity to thank the Central Bank of Cyprus for the excellent collaboration”.

Governor Herodotou said: “It is always a pleasure to welcome the Chair of ECB’s Supervisory Board to Cyprus. Once again, we had the opportunity for a comprehensive discussion of general and current supervisory matters. Mr. Enria’s opinion is valuable for every stakeholder of the banking sector, especially during such unprecedented times for the sector and the global economy in general. I take this opportunity to thank Mr. Enria for the excellent cooperation we have with him personally and with the Single Supervisory Mechanism under his tenure.
