Call for the expression of interest in the appointment of members of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities for the financial services sector

Friday, 29 January 2021

The Central Bank of Cyprus wishes to inform interested candidates that the European Commission has published a call for expression of interest in the appointment of members of the Board of Appeal of the three European Supervisory Authorities for the financial services sector (European Banking Authority, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority and European Securities and Markets Authority).

The Board of Appeal is responsible for deciding on appeals against certain individual decisions of the Authorities. In light of the expiration of the mandate of some members of the Board of Appeal, the European Commission has launched the relevant call of interest based on which it will set up a proposed shortlist of candidates for the appointment of members and/or alternates to the Board of Appeal. After having received the shortlist, the European Parliament may invite candidates for members and alternates to make a statement before it and answer any questions from its Members.
