Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) Deposits and Loans Statistics

The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of January 2022, which are included in the February 2022 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.

Total deposits in January 2022 recorded a net decrease1 of €341,8 million, compared with a net increase of €337,4 million in December 2021. The annual growth rate stood at 5,8%, compared with 5,7% in December 2021. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €51,3 billion in January 2022.

Total loans in January 2022 recorded a net increase of €107,1 million, compared with a net increase of  €386,0 million in December 2021. The annual growth rate stood at 1,1%, compared with 0,8% in December 2021. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €28,5 billion in January 2022.
