Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) Deposits and Loans Statistics

The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of September 2022, which are included in the October 2022 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. It is noted that the data for the period January to May 2022 were revised following the audit of the financial statements of the MFIs for 2021.

Total deposits in September 2022 recorded a net increase1 of €148,0 million, compared with a net increase of €173,7 million in August 2022. The annual growth rate stood at 0,6%, compared with 0,4% in August 2022. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €51,8 billion in September 2022.

Total loans in September 2022 recorded a net decrease of €110,9 million, compared with a net decrease of €100,0 million in August 2022. The annual growth rate stood at 1,4%, compared with 1,9% in August 2022. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €28,3 billion in September 2022.
