The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of January 2020, which are included in the February 2020 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in January 2020 recorded a net decrease of €311,9 million, compared with a net increase of €295,8 million in December 2019. The annual growth rate reached 2,0%, compared with 1,9% in December 2019. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €48,5 billion in January 2020.
Total loans in January 2020 exhibited a net decrease of €119,2 million, compared with a net decrease of €1,8 billion in December 2019. The annual growth rate stood at -4,9%, compared with -4,3% in December 2019. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €33,6 billion in January 2020.
