The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of February 2019, which are included in the March 2019 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in February 2019 recorded a net increase of €131,0 million, compared with a net decrease of €342,7 million in January 2019. The annual growth rate reached 4,5%, compared with 4,1% in January 2019. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached €47,7 billion in February 2019.
Total loans in February 2019 exhibited a net increase of €19,0 million, compared with a net increase of €115,1 million in January 2019. The outstanding amount of total loans decreased by €1,0 billion in February 2019 and reached €38,2 billion. The difference between the net change and the change of the outstanding amount of total loans is attributed to reclassification, revaluation, exchange rate or other adjustments. The annual growth rate stood at -2,4%, remaining unchanged compared with January 2019.
