The Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of May 2022, which are included in the June 2022 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.
Total deposits in May 2022 recorded a net decrease1 of €166,9 million, compared with a net increase of €146,5 million in April 2022. The annual growth rate stood at 1,9%, compared with 2,9% in April 2022. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €50,7 billion in May 2022.
Total loans in May 2022 recorded a net increase of €121,0 million, compared with a net increase of €64,5 million in April 2022. The annual growth rate stood at 3,3%, compared with 2,7% in April 2022. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €28,1 billion in May 2022.
