The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has released the external data statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for the second quarter of 2017 (2017Q2), as well as revised statistics for the period 2015-2016 and 2017Q1.
According to the latest provisional balance of payments data for 2017Q2, the current account recorded a deficit of €7,4 million, compared with a deficit of €472,2 million in 2016Q2. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2017Q2 recorded a small improvement, reaching a net liability position of €23.557,4 million, compared with €23.890,3 million the previous quarter. The external debt of Cyprus amounted to €108.844,4 million in 2017Q2, compared with €108.609,6 million in 2017Q1.
