The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the external data statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for the second quarter of 2019 (2019Q2), as well as revised statistics for the period 2008-2018 and 2019Q1. According to the latest provisional balance of payments data for 2019Q2, the current account recorded a deficit of €203,5 million, compared with a deficit of €88,4 million in 2018Q2. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2019Q2 recorded a marginal improvement, reaching a net liability position of €24.834,0 million, compared with €24.888,2 million the previous quarter. The external debt of Cyprus amounted to €208.114,5 million in 2019Q2, compared with €205.867,1 million in 2019Q1.
