The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has today released the provisional data for external statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for 2019Q1.
According to the aforementioned data, the current account in 2019Q1 recorded a deficit of €591,3 million, compared with a deficit of €148,8 million in 2018Q1. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2019Q1 recorded a small improvement, reaching a net liability position of €23.372,1 million, compared with €23.774,2 million in the previous quarter. Cyprus’ external debt amounted to €101.906,1 million in 2019Q1, compared with €102.533,2 million in 2018Q4.
