The Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus has released the external data statistics (balance of payments, international investment position and external debt) for the first quarter of 2018 (2018Q1).
According to the latest provisional balance of payments data for 2018Q1, the current account recorded a deficit of €86,3 million, compared with a deficit of €738,3 million in 2017Q1. The international investment position of Cyprus in 2018Q1 recorded a small improvement, reaching a net liability position of €22.867,6 million, compared with €23.139,4 million the previous quarter. The external debt of Cyprus amounted to €105.756,2 million in 2018Q1, compared with €107.058,5 million in 2017Q4.
