The Central Bank of Cyprus (‘‘CBC’’) informs the public, businesses and, more specifically, depositors that the entity under the name ‘‘SABAX BANK’’, to which reference is made on the following website:
is not licensed by the CBC to operate as a credit institution in accordance with section 4 of the Business of Credit Institutions Laws of 1997 to (No. 2) of 2022.
It is specified that the document which appears on that website as a certificate of licence is counterfeit and has not been issued by the CBC.
The CBC urges the public, businesses and depositors, before conducting business with credit institutions, to consult its website and specifically the Register of Credit Institutions operating in Cyprus in order to ascertain the credit institutions which are legally operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
